Description

Park Lodge is a house, likely built in the early 19th century, possibly designed by Jacob Owen. It features a hipped roof made of Welsh slate and has rendered stacks on both the left and right sides. The building stands two stories tall and has three bays.

At the center, there is a door made up of three moulded panels, topped with a fanlight. This door is flanked by pilasters and jambs that have rope moulding on the edges. Above the door, there is a moulded pedimented dripstone with rounded corners and stops. The entrance is approached by four steps that are bordered by a moulded stucco balustrade. On either side of the door, there are two 4-pane, 2-light casement windows, each with a bracketed sillband and aprons, and dripstones above that are rounded at the corners and stops. The first floor has three similar windows, but these do not have dripstones or aprons.

The returns of the building are blind, with a first-floor sillband that continues around the sides and projecting bracketed eaves. The rear of the house has a central 20th-century entrance, flanked by two 24-pane sash windows, with two additional windows above set under cambered arches. Jacob Owen, who may have designed this house, was a surveyor with the Royal Engineers and the father of the more renowned T.E. Owen. The interior has not been inspected.
