Description

Kersey House is a villa dating to 1847, designed by T.E. Owen. It is constructed of red brick in a stretcher bond pattern, with a Welsh slate roof and brick stacks to the left and right of the rear section. A rendered stack is located on the right side of the projecting front section. The building is of three storeys at the rear and two storeys at the front, with three bays. The design incorporates Gothic detailing. The left quoin of the front projection is stone rusticated. An entrance porch on the left-hand side of the front projection features a pointed arch opening with an eared and rusticated stone surround. To the right and left of the porch is a tripartite stone-framed mullion and transomed casement window, also with rusticated quoins. The first and second floors on the left-hand side each have a two-light stone mullioned casement within a similar surround. Above the porch, on the first floor, is a narrow sash window set under a four-centred stone arch and rusticated surround, featuring a facing gable. To the right is a two-light timber mullion and transomed casement set under a brick cambered arch. The interior of the building has not been inspected.
