Description

Western Court is a villa, now divided into a house and three flats, built in 1847 by T.E. Owen. The building is stuccoed with a Welsh slate roof and has rendered stacks on either side of the three-storey section. The exterior features three storeys, with the front part being two storeys and comprising four bays.

At the center of the three-storey section, there is a one-storey projecting entrance porch that has a round-arched opening, a moulded band, and a crenellated parapet. Access to the porch is via three steps leading to a recessed two-leaf six-panelled door with an overlight. The right side of the porch has one narrow round-arched fixed casement, while the left side has three narrow round-arched fixed casements, each with leaded lights and a diamond pattern in the top half.

To the right of the porch, within the projecting two-storey wing, is a sash window with its original attached shutters intact, set beneath a flat arch. On the left side of the porch, there is a four-panelled door with an overlight, and adjacent to it is a twelve-pane sash window. The first and second floors feature a string course and moulded sill bands. On the first floor, there are twelve-pane sashes on the left and far right, both under flat arches, and a narrow sash to the right of the porch. The second floor has three six-pane sashes, with the right sash set within a facing gable. All the sash windows have restored attached shutters. The interior has not been inspected.
