Malthouse at Alltmawr Isaf

The Malthouse at Alltmawr Isaf is a two-storey outbuilding constructed in rubble stone with corrugated iron roofs, designed in an L-shape. The front features a large projecting wing on the right, which has a gable end with a small roundel made of stone voussoirs above two blocked large windows on the first floor. The ground floor includes a full-width weatherboarded opening with a long chamfered timber lintel, and there is a quadrant moulded course of projecting stones above this lintel. The left jamb of the opening is rounded.

On the right side wall, there is a substantial external flight of stairs leading to a loft door, with a slate roof extending down over it, supported by a wooden post. The left side wall has one window on the first floor. The left side of the main range contains two upper windows located under the eaves, one of which is a cross-window. The ground floor features a single long chamfered lintel over a window to the left and a door to the right, with quadrant moulded stones above the lintel. The south gable is windowless and includes some late 19th century or early 20th century black brick in the quoins. The rear wall is bowing outward as of 2000. The upper gable has a similar apex roundel above the first and ground floor windows, both of which have timber lintels.
