Description

Cornorion Fawr is a two-storey plus attic building constructed from Llanfyllin brick, rendered on the front and sides, and painted at the rear. It features a slate roof and brick chimneys, with modern glazing throughout. The gable end facing the road has a single camber-headed window in the attic and three camber-headed windows on each floor. To the left of the gable apex is an L-plan brick chimney.

On the right side (east), the upper floor has two camber-headed windows and a datestone inscribed with 'LL R 1729'. The ground floor includes a camber-headed window and a doorway with a modern hipped porch. The west elevation has one camber-headed window on each floor, along with a small camber-headed window between the floors on the left. There is also a modern garage with a monopitch roof. The rear gable end features a single camber-headed window in the attic and two camber-headed windows on each floor, with string courses between the floors and above the attic window. A square-headed entrance doorway is located between the ground floor windows, with a brick chimney to the right.

At the northeast corner, there is a cross wing. The rear elevation of this wing has a partially timber-framed upper floor with brick infill, and a door on the right return that projects beyond the main block, accessed by stone steps. The ground floor is constructed of rubble, featuring a square-headed doorway and window. The south elevation of the wing is rendered, with a beam between the ground and first floors and a single window on the ground floor.

The interior of the main block is said to contain a simple early 18th-century oak staircase.
