Description
Glan Clwyd is an L-shaped, two-storey house with a lateral chimney and timber-framed origins. It features a primary range on the southwest side and an early one-and-a-half storey addition. The addition is built of whitened rubble, while the primary section is encased, likely in brick, and rendered. The roofs are covered with renewed slate.
The main block has a large lateral chimney with a plain stack, and there is a two-stage early 19th-century end chimney on the left gable, with its upper section made of whitened brick. The facade of the main range is a three-bay late Georgian design, symmetrical in appearance. The central entrance is framed with a wooden architrave and an open pediment, leading to a modern small-pane glazed door. There are recessed 12-pane sash windows, with the first-floor windows being unhorned and featuring projecting stone sills.
On the right gable, there is a modern timber part-casement window on the first floor, along with a blocked attic light in the gable apex. Adjacent to the left gable is a modern uPVC conservatory addition. The lower adjoining wing has a single-storey gabled porch on the left side, which contains a 19th-century four-panel door. To the right, there is a modern multi-pane wooden window. The upper storey features two 19th-century 12-pane unhorned sashes set within gabled dormers that have plain bargeboards. The rear of this range includes a modern brick porch and entrance with modern windows, including one in a modern gabled dormer. There is also a single-storey modern extension at the gable end and a single rooflight over the porch.
Inside, the former hall has a stopped-chamfered beamed ceiling with a flat bressummer above a large lateral fireplace. There is a post-and-panel partition screen to the left, which includes two openings.
