Description
Talwrn Farmhouse is a 17th-century building featuring a central timber-framed block that runs roughly east to west. To the right (west) is a rendered crosswing, while to the left (east) is a rubble crosswing. The central block includes a large brick chimney on the left and has four tiers of square panels with brick infill. The first floor has three square windows with modern glazing, and the ground floor has an entrance door offset to the right, flanked by a window on each side, also with modern glazing. The left side features the rubble crosswing, and the right side has the rendered crosswing, which includes a projecting rendered chimney on the right return.
Inside, to the left of the entrance door, there is a post and panel partition, and heavy joists are visible in the lobby. A rear doorway aligns with the front doorway. The main room contains some heavy beams and joists, along with a large fireplace and a timber-framed partition. The room in the eastern crosswing features heavy ovolo chamfered stopped beams and crossbeams. The first floor of the western crosswing has exposed timber-framed partitions.
