Description
Brown's Bakers is a 19th-century building that stands three stories tall and features a three-window front with scribed render, indicating older origins. The roof is covered with slate, and there is a brick stack to the left, along with boxed eaves. The building has four-pane sash windows set within moulded architraves. The shop front is double, with pilasters and slender mullions, and the left corner jetties out on a diagonal strut. There is a boarded door at the lane entrance on the left side, with some studding visible inside.
Inside, the building retains a well-preserved 17th-century staircase with turned balusters, and there is contemporary panelling in the back parlour.
