Description
Henefail is an early 18th century cottage, originally named Hen Efail, as noted in the Tithe apportionment of 1842. The house features a timber frame construction, which may have originally consisted of two bays and is a single storey with attics, topped by an axial chimney stack. The exterior has whitewashed brick infilling and a slate-covered roof. The framing consists of two panels high with slight cross noggings and long tension braces, although part of the framing has been replaced by brick at the rear. The windows are from the 20th century.
The interior was not accessible and the property was for sale at the time of inspection in October 1995. Henefail is listed as a good late example of the timber frame tradition, despite later alterations.
