Description
Ty'n-y-rhos isaf is a 17th-century timber-framed building featuring plastered infill panels and an old slate roof. It has a rendered stone stack and a frame that stands four panels high, with some corner braces, raised on a low stone plinth. Originally one storey with an attic, it was later raised to two storeys. The building consists of three bays, with a jettied two-storeyed gabled porch on the second bay from the left, which serves as the entrance and includes a boarded oak door. This porch is opposite the principal stack located in the living room of the second bay. The fourth bay, situated beyond the axial stack at the right end, is likely a later addition. The windows are oak framed, featuring small-paned metal casements. The timber frame of the fourth bay is either new or has been significantly replaced, and much of the framing at the rear has also been recently replaced. There are three gabled dormers on the rear of the building. The property was not accessible at the time of inspection in October 1995.
