Description

The Mile Post at Neuadd Bridge dates to around 1820 and was created for the Montgomeryshire Turnpike Trust. It is made of cast iron and has a hollow triangular shape with a sloping top that leads to a half-round headplate. The mile post features raised lettering on the left side that reads "CANNOFFICE / 5 / -", and on the right side, it reads "MEIFOD / 5½ / -". The backplate is inscribed with "LLANSANTFFRAID / 12 / -". This mile post is noted for being a well-preserved example of a 19th-century cast iron mile post still existing in the area.
