Description

Bryn Newydd is a large lofted L-plan multi-purpose farm building, primarily consisting of former stables, a cart shed, and a granary. It is constructed of brick and features a slate roof. Most openings have segmental heads. The shorter northwest-southeast range is the older section. On the right side, there is a former cart shed with two pairs of boarded double doors beneath a timber lintel and a brick relieving arch, along with two 2-light windows in the loft. The gable end has external steps leading to a granary door. To the left are former stables, which include two windows and two boarded doors, with the left-hand door being larger. Above the larger door is a single former pitching eye that is now glazed.

The longer southwest-northeast front is a later addition and features slightly redder brickwork than the northwest-southeast range. It has a single boarded door at the right end, followed by two ventilation strips, larger double doors, two windows, a door, and another window. Further to the left are two split doors with a window in between. The loft has pitching eyes at the center and right end, with a loading door positioned between them. The left side of the loft contains two tiers of ventilation strips, and there are two similar vents beneath the right-hand pitching eye. The left gable end features a pitching eye, stepped ventilation strips, and a 2-light window in the lower right corner. Behind the northwest-southeast range, to the left, are four segmental-headed loft openings that are now glazed, along with a pitching eye further to the right. Below, on the right side, there are two segmental-headed windows.
