Description
The Kennels is an L-plan building, partly constructed of stone, with an upper section featuring timber framing that is infilled with colourwashed brick. It has slated roofs. The gable facing the cottage includes a later wide opening and window, as well as a three-ledge dovecote in the stone gable end, which contains approximately 18 nestboxes. The timber framing at the rear and on the eastern arm of the L-plan is square panelled, with decorative cross bracing in the eastern gable end. It features a tie, queen strut, and collar truss. Attached to the eastern side are the kennels, built in the 19th century from brick, with corrugated roofs and four openings at the front that lead into wire pens for the dogs.
