Description

Cefn Bychan Baptist Chapel is a building dating from the 18th century, constructed of roughly coursed and squared rubble. The chapel has a half-hipped slate roof. The main gable end, facing the street, features a central doorway with a split four-panelled door incorporating radial glazing to a fanlight. An inscribed stone above the door bears dates and other information. Flanking the doorway are sash windows with 16 panes, each with tooled wedge lintels. Two similar sash windows are found in each return elevation. To the right of the chapel stands a single-storey school room, a two-window range with similar 16-pane sash windows. A chimney is located within the brick-built gable end of the school room.
