Description
The Cefn (Newbridge) Railway Viaduct is a significant structure built of coursed squared rock-faced sandstone, with an upper arched stage made of brick faced with stone. It measures 460 meters (1,508 feet) in length and features 19 arches, each spanning 18.2 meters (60 feet) and rising 46 meters (147 feet) above the river. The main piers of the viaduct taper upwards to the springing line, and the arch voussoirs are recessed behind the face. At the top, a low parapet is supported by a corbel table.
