Description
The Gatelodge to Eyarth House is a small building with a cruciform plan, featuring four gabled roofs of equal height. It is constructed from local limestone masonry and has a decorative slate roof, which includes special decorative slates in the roof valleys.
The north elevation, which faces the gateway to Eyarth House, has a door located in the gabled north wing, flanked by lattice casement windows. There is a modern gabled hood over the door, supported by brackets, and timber bargeboards. Small similar windows are present in the side gables, and the front door is boarded with an arched frame.
An additional small wing has been discreetly added in the southwest corner, along with a small lean-to addition on the south-facing gable. The date of the building is displayed on a stone above the door. The interior was undergoing renovation at the time of the survey.
