Description
The Stable Block of Gileston Manor is a two-storey building constructed from squared and partly coursed local lias limestone rubble, featuring dressed quoins and openings, topped with a Welsh slate roof. The structure has seven bays arranged in a 3 + 1 + 3 configuration, with a central pediment. The center includes a coach-house door set under an elliptical arch, an 8 over 2 pane sash window above, and a bullseye window in the gable. An oval plaque displaying the date 1812 is located below the gable.
The left wing features a window and a garage door below, which appears to have been added since 1980, along with two windows flanking a hayloft door above. The right wing contains a central stable door, a window to the left, and a part-glazed house door to the right. The roof has an overall hipped design. The east gable is accessed by a flight of stone steps leading to the hayloft door. The rear elevation includes a later out-shut and chimney at the house end, along with three small windows, two of which are 2 x 2 pane casements located on the upper floor.
The interior details were not available during the resurvey, but it is reported to have been converted in recent years.
