Description
The Carthouse and Stable Range at Foxhall is a long rectangular structure built from limestone rubble, featuring a slated roof with a tiled ridge. The stable section is located on the left half of the building. It includes an entrance with a boarded door and a timber lintel, flanked by squat windows that have 3-pane upper sections and wooden vertically-slatted lower sections. All openings are adorned with segmental limestone voussoirs. There is evidence of a blocked-up entrance on the far left, and to the right of the right-hand window, there is another entrance with a similar door that provides access to the loft stair. Above the stable entrance, there is a boarded loading bay, with two vent slits on each side. The cart section on the right features four equally-sized cart bays, each with segmental arches and limestone voussoirs, along with a central boarded loading bay for the loft. The interior was not inspected during the survey.
