Description

Nos 3, 5, and 7 School Street in Henllan form an L-shaped terrace of two-storey cottages built from limestone rubble. They feature a continuous slate roof with a tiled ridge and plain stone chimneys that have cornice bands. The first unit on the left, number 3, is L-shaped and has a single-bay gabled extension that projects into the road at a right angle to the main range. This unit and the left-hand bay of the main range have unhorned 12-pane sash windows on both floors, with the ground floor windows being larger and having dressed stone lintels. The entrance consists of a six-panel door with a narrow rectangular overlight and a matching lintel. Numbers 5 and 7 have similar windows to the left of their entrance; they feature modern doors, with number 5 having a modern canopy porch. To the right of the entrance to number 7 is another entrance with a recessed boarded door and a lintel inscribed with the date 1864. Above this entrance is another 12-pane sash window, and all the windows have projecting stone sills. The interior was not inspected during the survey.
