Description

This is a group of three 17th century chest tombs located at the Church of St Sadwrn. They are made of sandstone and feature heavy rectangular tombstones with Latin inscriptions. The outer tombstones have raised lettering. The tomb on the left is for Hugh Peake of Perthewig, who died in 1601. The central tomb is dedicated to William Vaughan, who died in 1661, and the tomb on the right belongs to Agnes Peake, the wife of Hugh of Perthewig, who died in 1618. All three tombs also have secondary inscriptions that were incised in the mid-18th century.
