Post Bach

Nos 8-12 Church Street in Llandderfel is a two-storey terrace of five single-unit cottages, with each unit featuring a single window, except for no. 8, which has two windows and provides access to a rear yard. The cottages are built from local slatestone rubble, with slatestone lintels and a slate roof that steps up slightly at no. 9 and continues from there. They have shared rubble chimneys, with an additional end chimney at no. 8, and include weathercoursing and slate cornice bands.

Each unit, except for no. 8, has an entrance with a single window to either the right or left on both the ground and first floors, while the entrance for no. 11 is located on the left. The doors are boarded, with glazed panels on nos. 9 and 12, and a modern glazed door at no. 8. Nos. 9 and 12 feature 19th-century horned 9-pane sash windows on both floors, with the first-floor window of no. 12 breaking the eaves and set within a small gabled wooden dormer; this unit is also rendered. No. 8 retains original unhorned 12-pane sash windows. Nos. 10 and 11 have 9-pane sashes on their first floors, with larger small-pane windows on the ground floors—15-pane for no. 11 and 12-pane for no. 10, which also has an inserted narrow 8-pane window to its left. Both nos. 10 and 11 still have narrow rectangular overlights above their doors, an original feature.
