Description
Nos 11 &13 School Street.
Mid C18 house later extended and subdivided. The group now consists of 2 (formerly 3) 2-storey cottages of whitened limestone rubble under a continuous slate roof; end chimneys define the extent of the primary block (to the L). No.11 has a off-centre entrance (L) with boarded door and dressed stone lintel. This is flanked by one window to the L and two to the R, all with similar lintels and with plain 4-pane sashes. Of those to the R, the first is a former entrance and has an inscribed stone plaque over its lintel. Above the outer windows are first floor sashes in alignment. These are similar, though longer than those on the ground floor and break the eaves, being contained within gabled dormers with plain C20 bargeboards. No.13 has an entrance to the L via a modern gabled porch; part-glazed modern door. To the R of this is a 6-pane modern window to the ground floor with a similar dormer above having a 9-pane, part-tilting modern window. Plain projecting stone sills throughout.
