Description
Braich is a stone-built farmhouse constructed with axe-dressed masonry, featuring a wash-house, a rear wing, and attached outbuilding ranges, with the house and parts of the outbuildings limewashed. The farmhouse is a one-and-a-half storey structure with three windows and a slate roof, which has end chimneys made of exposed stone. It has modern casement glazing in altered openings, and the upper floor includes three dormers set across the eaves. The central doorway is topped with a bracketed gabled hood and has a boarded door. At the right end of the house, there is a non-original unit that shares the same roofline, featuring a small window at the eaves, a boarded door, and a small window to the right. To the left, there is an attached stone outbuilding with a slate roof, which has a single altered door and an altered window at the front, likely not contemporary with the house.
Adjacent to the left and stepped down is an L-shaped 19th-century farm range built in undressed rubble masonry. There is a single-storey stone outbuilding nearly aligned with the house, topped with a corrugated roof and featuring a central small-pane window flanked by two doors. At right angles to the east is another outbuilding with three doors at the front, which may have originally served as a barn; the central door has been altered. There are two additional outbuilding units stepping down, the first with a corrugated roof, possibly originally a cartshed, and the second is slate-roofed but in a ruinous condition.
