Description
Church House is a two-storey building located at the edge of St Mary's churchyard, contributing to the boundary of the site. It features local axe-dressed uncoursed stonework and includes a small chimney on the south side. The roof is modern slate with a red tile ridge. Access to the upper storey is provided by external stairs on the west side, which are situated beneath a projection of the roof.
On the upper storey, there is a high-level lancet window on the north side and three-light mullion windows on both the east and west sides, all with wooden frames. The ground storey, which is now a semi-basement, has a walled-up opening to the south with a segmental arch, as well as a similar opening to the north that faces the church. The northern opening is partly walled up but features a small door in the center for access to the interior. Above the arch of this opening is a stone inscribed with 'Derwen / Church House / 1905'. Additionally, there is a small window facing east.
The main beam of the upper floor is adorned with stepped tongue stops on the chamfers, while other carpentry elements have been replaced.
