Description
This is an Independent Chapel built in 1822 and restored in 1866, featuring a walled graveyard to the east. The chapel is a single-storey rectangular hall constructed of rendered rubble, topped with a hipped slate roof and symmetrical sides. The west facade has a plain central entrance with a simple stucco surround and recessed doors. On either side of the entrance are 19th-century 12-pane sash windows, each with stucco surrounds and bracketed cills. Above the entrance is a stucco-framed slate plaque that displays the foundation and restoration dates. The longer north and south sides have three smaller-pane windows with top-hung lights.
To the west, there is a small walled enclosure that serves as the graveyard, featuring rubble walls with random quartz coping. Inside, there are 19th-century slate gravestones, including one that is surrounded by iron railings.
This chapel is included for its group value with the nearby Henryd Farmhouse.
