Description

Hen-dy Farmhouse is a long-range building that includes a dwelling on the left and a small outbuilding on the right, both under the same roof. The structure is made of whitened rubble and features a slate roof, with end chimneys indicating the original extent of the dwelling. The right-hand chimney has been partly rebuilt in brick. The house is one and a half storeys tall and was originally designed with a two-unit plan, featuring a near-central doorway. This layout is still evident in the arrangement of openings on the exterior, although all the details have been renewed. Small attic windows that break the eaves line are also modern replacements.

The outbuilding has undergone more extensive changes; the site of an earlier window now serves as the main entrance to the house, while an earlier doorway to its right has been converted into a window. However, an original doorway on the right side of the elevation remains intact. Part of the outbuilding has been integrated into the dwelling, accessible through a passageway created against the original dividing wall. The original layout of the house is still preserved beyond this point, showcasing some early details, including main beams and a large fireplace in the left-hand room. In the remaining section of the outbuilding, remnants of an oven and boiler can be found, along with an upper room that was likely originally a granary.
