Description
Pont Tai'n-rhos, also known as Pont yr Ebach, is a bridge built of local stone rubble. It features a single, slightly inset segmental arch made of voussoirs that are 0.5 meters deep. The arch springs from close to ground level on the banks of the river. The spandrels of the arch are slightly curved in plan and turn abruptly out to the end piers. There is a projecting string course that is slightly cambered, following the road level at the base of the flush parapet, which is coped with flush slabs of stone. The riverbed beneath the bridge is closely packed with stones placed on edge between natural outcrops. The radius of the arch is 7.1 meters, spanning 11.17 meters, and provides a clearance above water level of 3.24 meters at the center.
