Description
Pont Moelfre is a bridge built of local rubble stone. It features a single elliptical arch that spans approximately 10.8 meters, with the soffit rising to about 2.8 meters above the water level. The arch is constructed from 50-centimeter deep, unshaped projecting rustic rubble voussoirs, culminating in a dropped keystone. The rock-faced spandrels rise to a plat band and above that, there is a flush stone-coped parapet. The bridge's width between the parallel sides is 5.5 meters, providing a 4.6-meter wide level carriageway between the parapets, which curve out at the ends to terminate in shallow piers on the outer face only.
