Description
Betws Lodge is a long building facing the road, featuring a central chamfered four-centred carriage arch flanked by two buttresses that offset twice. Between these buttresses is an outset parapet on stone brackets that simulates machicolations, which is lower in height at the center. The parapet outside the buttresses deepens significantly, with the outsetting brackets positioned low, and the wall extends to resemble quasi-end towers, where the offsetting parapet returns to its original height. Each side of the intermediate section has sturdy raking buttresses at the midpoint.
