Description

East Lodge, gateway and flanking walls were built in 1894 and are designed in the Baroque Revival Style. The structure is made of ashlar stone and features a slate roof. Key architectural elements include a plinth, first floor and sill bands, a moulded coped parapet with obelisk finials, shouldered shaped coped gables, and ball finials. The windows are mullioned and transomed leaded casements. The building is two storeys high, has three bays, and is arranged in an L-plan.

The main south front has a projecting wing on the left with a two-storey flat-roofed bay window that contains four lights on each floor. To the right, there is a single-storey porch with two round-headed windows on the left and a corner pier with two round-headed openings on the right. The east gable features a canted five-light bay window and a stepped head six-light window above it, complete with a hood mould.

Outside, there is a large pair of rusticated gate piers with a central round-headed gateway that has projecting keystones. The flanking columns are diced and adorned with swags, and above them are cartouches displaying Arms. Higher up, there are panelled bases with scroll brackets inscribed with 'ANNO DOMINI MDCCCXCIV', supporting heraldic lions. The main central wrought iron gates are complemented by a matching overthrow featuring Arms and similar flanking wicket gates.

Beyond the gates, there are curved dwarf flanking walls with intermediate buttresses that support scroll-top wrought iron railings. Further along, the main flanking walls have intermediate buttresses, ramped coping, and bracketed ball finials. There are four square corner piers with round-headed single niches in recessed panels, topped with cornices and bracketed ball finials. A timber gate is located to the right. The entire structure stretches approximately 150 meters long.
