Description
West Lodge is a stone building featuring embattled parapets and mock machicolation. It has a low two-storey front block with a central buttress on the front ground floor wall, flanked by a window on each side. The north-west wall of the wing includes a modern window on the first floor and a modern porch below it. The rear wall has a two-light stone mullioned window on the first floor, while the ground floor features a pointed three-light mullioned window on the left and a small single-light stone-framed window on the right. Behind this front wing stands a taller tower block, with the south-west elevation showcasing two-light stone mullioned windows on both the second and first floors, and a three-light mullioned window on the ground floor. The north-west elevation of the tower has a small window on the first floor, and in front of the ground floor, there is a single-storey projection with two-light mullioned windows in both the north-west and south-west walls. Additionally, the north-west elevation of the main body of the building features a narrow semi-octagonal tower with "arrow" loops at the rear of the main tower, along with a low one-storey wing at the north-east end.
