Description
74 Mostyn Street is a former hall and theatre that has been converted into a shop. This three-storey building is taller than the surrounding structures and features steeply-pitched slate roofs. The front is made of stucco and has projecting end bays. It includes an eaves cornice with toothing and modillions. Below the cornice, there is a series of small blocked segmental headed openings. The central bay is recessed and has four segmentally-headed windows, with a balcony in front that has an iron balustrade. The top rail of the balustrade incorporates lions’ heads and a Greek key pattern. Each end bay contains one segmental headed window with two lights. The building also has stringcourses at both the sill and impost levels, and a large later 20th-century plate glass shop front on the ground floor.
