Description
Old College Hall is a three-storey building that currently functions as a shop with accommodation above. It features a three-window front and has a slate roof with chimneys at each end. The front wall is rendered, with end pilasters that have egg and dart moulding on their capitals, and there are decorative bands at both the second and first floor levels. The building has a stone plinth.
The window openings are adorned with moulded stuccoed architraves; the wider openings at the ends contain triple sash windows without glazing bars, while the central windows have glazing bars. Both ground floor windows consist of one large pane. The central flat-arched doorway is flanked by plain pilasters and has a panelled frieze, a cornice supported by enriched brackets, and a four-panelled door with panelled reveals and a plain shallow rectangular fanlight.
The left side of the building, which faces Silver Street, has a gabled return with end plasters. There is a single sash staircase window at the rear, and a single storey rear wing that features modern detailing.
