Description
Nos 8 and 9 Orchard Street are a pair of three-storey houses featuring three window bays in total. They have a slate roof and front walls made of stone laid in regular courses, with No. 8 being painted. The houses have a stone plinth, and the window openings are topped with dressed stone heads. The second-floor openings have heads at eaves level, while the first and ground floor openings have slightly cambered heads. The arrangement includes three window bays alternating with two door bays. On the second floor, the left and centre window bays each contain an inward-opening window with three panes, while the right-hand end bay has a small-pane modern window. All windows on the ground and first floors now feature 12-pane sashes.
No. 8 has a one-window front. The doorway to No. 8 is framed by stone pilasters and a moulded cornice supported by carved consoles, leading to a modern glazed door.
