Description
78 Mostyn Street is a two-storey shop with a restaurant above, featuring an attic. The building has a slate roof and a stucco front, with two windows across the front. There are two gabled dormers in the attic, which have sash glazing. A cornice with toothing runs along the top, and there is a continuous stringcourse on the second floor that rises above the second floor windows to create a square-headed dripstone, forming a triangular shape between the windows. On the second floor, there are two square-headed sash windows with quoined architraves. The first floor has a segmental headed sash window with a moulded head and flanking columns on the right side, though the cornice is missing. To the left, there is a canted three-light bay window with segmental headed lights, flanking columns, and a toothed cornice. On the ground floor, there is a narrow mid-20th century shopfront and restaurant entrance on the left, and a later 20th century shopfront on the right.
