Description

This is a row of three shops with living accommodation above, located at 1, 3, and 5 Gloddaeth Street, Llandudno. Dating to the 19th century, the buildings are constructed of stucco and have slate mansard roofs. Each building has three storeys and an attic. The front elevation features two windows per floor. Two gabled dormers, each with a segmental headed sash window, are set into the mansard roof. A detailed eaves cornice features dentils and a panelled frieze band, and the buildings are accentuated by quoins. The second-floor windows are sash windows with shaped stuccoed architraves and keystones. The first floor features two three-light canted bay windows, with pilasters on each building. The ground floor has modern plate glass shop fronts. A modern verandah, supported by steel posts, runs along the front. Number 5 has simplified first-floor bay windows compared to its neighbours.
