Description
Ty-bont, which includes a Post Office and General Stores, is a two-storey building constructed of rubble with a slate roof. It features a double depth plan, with the shop occupying the left half. The shop front, dating from around 1900, is symmetrical and includes a recessed central entrance flanked by plate glass windows and end pilasters, with the heads bracketed out to support the cornice. The fascia is black and glazed, adorned with gold lettering that reads "GROCER/DRAPER." The entrance consists of a wide partly glazed door with an overlight. Below the windows, there are buff glazed tiles featuring a floral pattern. On the first floor, there is a single 12-pane sash window.
The right half of the building serves as a residence, with the shop front continuing as a porch over the entrance, which has similar bracketed pilasters. The porch features panelled reveals leading to a 4-panelled half-glazed door and overlight. There is a single uPVC window on the ground floor to the right, and two windows on the first floor, all with slate sills. The building extends to the rear with a single storey and attic outbuilding.
The interior of the shop has been modernised.
