Hen Ysgol

Hen Ysgol is a two-storey school building dating from the late 19th century. It faces west towards the road and features a three-window front with the main entrance sheltered by a lean-to porch that spans the entire width of the elevation, topped with a slate roof. The building is constructed from mortared rubble masonry, with large stones used for the quoins and lintels. It has a hipped slate roof adorned with decorative ridge tiles and a central timber belltower that has a pyramidal slate roof and shaped barge boards.

The main elevation includes three hipped gable dormers that interrupt the eaves line, and the windows are timber casements with two lights. The central doorway is situated beneath a shallow pitched roofed porch supported by timber piers, with flanking windows that are a mix of timber casements with one and two lights, plus a shallow window directly to the left of the entrance. On the left (north) gable, there is a large fixed light window with 12 panes.

The interior was not inspected during the survey conducted in June and July 2003.
