Description
The building is a school constructed in the later 19th century. It has a single-storey, rectangular plan and is made of painted rubble sandstone with ashlar dressings. The roof is slate, featuring moulded bargeboards at the overhanging gables. Notable architectural details include stop-chamfered doorcases and a variety of timber sash and case windows, which are arranged as single, bi-partite, and tri-partite 2-pane designs with chamfered margins. There is also a single coped stack.
On the front elevation, the main block is centrally located and flanked by two slightly advanced gabled bays, each containing a bipartite window and decorated with diamond pattern moulded ornament at the gable. To the left return, there is a single window, while the right return features a tripartite window. A slightly lower block is set back to the left and includes a door and window. To the right, there is a small entrance porch that is also set back, containing a door and a window to the right return.
The rear elevation is plain, featuring two rooflights and a window at the far right. The interior has not been seen, but it is likely to retain original fittings such as boarded panelling and doors.
