Description

Gweithdy Saer is a former inn built in an L-shape, featuring a two-storey front range with a single chimney and a one-and-a-half storey rear range with an end chimney. The building is constructed from local rubble and topped with an old slate roof, which includes plain slate capping and weathercoursing on the end chimneys.

The main elevation, which faces the lane, has asymmetrical openings and a chimney that is flush with the left gable. On the ground floor, there is a three-light 20th-century wooden window to the left, set within what was once an entrance. To the right of this is a similar reduced entrance with a late 20th-century wooden casement window. There is a wide modern opening with part-glazed doors located right of centre, along with another entrance on the far right with a modern door.

On the first floor, the right side features a wooden cross-window, while to the left is a plain late 19th-century four-pane sash window. Off-centre to the left is a third-quarter 19th-century six-pane sash window; all of these windows have their lintels tucked under the eaves and are supported by projecting stone sills. The right-hand corner of the building has its lower half chamfered off.

The rear wing includes an upper entrance with a framed, boarded door at the left gable, along with two shallow catslide dormer windows on the north side, and a further entrance and window below. The interior was not inspected during the survey.
