Description

Capel Rehoboth is a medium-sized rectangular chapel, with a later school-room addition that steps down at the west gable end. The building is constructed from roughcast rubble and features applied corner pilasters and window dressings made of raised render, reflecting a late 19th century to early 20th century vernacular style. The roof is renewed slate with a tiled ridge, plain bargeboards, and slate slab copings at the gable ends.

The chapel has four bays on the sides, with four tall, arched 8-pane sash windows on the north side and three on the south side, where there is also a porch entrance located on the third bay. The windows have marginal glazing and 2-pane segmental heads. The single-storey porch is gabled, featuring a boarded door on the west return and a small 8-pane sash window on the front (south). Above the porch is an inset slate plaque inscribed: 'Rehoboth 1820 J.R.J.' There is an additional tall arched window on the east gable end. The adjoining school-room has a catslide porch on the right side of the south, which partly overlaps the chapel, and includes a boarded door. The south side also has a 4-pane sash window with marginal glazing and a boarded door to the basement on the left; there is a reduced rendered brick chimney on the left gable.

Inside, the late 19th century fittings have been preserved. The chapel features grained pine pews with pointed-arched pew ends that slope down to the Set Fawr, arranged with a central aisle. The ceiling is compartmented into four parts, with boarding and lateral dividing beams. Each compartment contains a central roundel with a moulded frame and a decorative iron vent. The Set Fawr is enclosed with a U-shaped panelled enclosure, featuring moulded vertical lower panels and a turned, arcaded upper section, along with plain square newels topped with ball finials. Access to the Set Fawr is provided from both the right and left via similar flights of steps. The pulpit front has turned upper balusters and a rail, with a tall arched recess behind the seat, framed by a broad plaster architrave. To the left of the Set Fawr is a 4-panel door with a plain architrave.
