Description
Gelli Grin is a symmetrically planned two-storey farmhouse, built in the style of the Newborough estate. It features advanced full-height bays at both the front and rear, along with narrow single-storey wings on each gable. The construction includes roughly coursed and dressed masonry, with long stones used as quoins and lintels, and rendered gable walls. The roof is modern slate, topped with rectangular brick gable stacks that have capping. The hipped roof of the west gable wing includes modern Velux rooflights.
The principal elevation faces the Vale of Ffestiniog to the north and consists of a three-window range, with the central window positioned above the entrance in the advanced bay. The entrance features modern glazed doors beneath a clear overlight that displays the house name, while the window above is a narrow eight-pane hornless sash. The single-storey wings have similar windows, and the flanking bays contain tripartite casement windows with transoms; the ground floor windows have three sets of ten-paned lights, while the first floor has a central eight-pane light flanked by narrow four-pane lights.
The rear elevation mirrors this detailing, with a tripartite window replacing the doorway found on the front. Additionally, modern single-storey porch and conservatory additions have been constructed at the angles.
