Description

Hatton Of Ogilvie is an early 19th-century farmhouse that stands two storeys high and features three bays, along with a single-storey wing. The building is constructed from squared and snecked rubble, with raised margins and quoin strips.

The southeast elevation is symmetrical, showcasing a modern single-storey porch that conceals a part-glazed panelled timber door at the centre bay. Flanking this door are windows, and there is regular fenestration close to the eaves on the first floor.

On the southwest elevation, there is a broad gabled bay positioned to the right of centre, which includes a small window on the ground floor to the right. Additional windows are located on the outer left at ground level and in the centre and outer left bays on the first floor.

The northwest elevation features a broad gabled bay to the right of centre, with a window to the left on the first floor. The single-storey wing on the outer left has a door and an adjacent window to the right.

On the northeast elevation, there is a broad gabled bay to the left of centre, with a window to the right on the first floor. The single-storey wing on the outer right includes a window.

The windows throughout the property are timber sash and case, featuring 4- and 12-pane glazing patterns, except for the centre window on the first floor of the southwest elevation. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are cavetto coped and margined ashlar stacks with a full complement of polygonal cans on the northeast and southwest elevations, as well as a coped ashlar stack with cans on the northwest, all of which include thackstanes.
