Description
The small lychgate to the Church of St Michael is constructed from local stone and features a slate roof with roll ridge tiles. It has segmental-headed arches on both the outside and inside, which align with the inner and outer gables, each topped with field stones. Behind each arch, there is a chamfered cambered beam.
Inside, the stonework is whitewashed and includes narrow stone benches on either side. The roof has open rafters supported by a single tier of heavy purlins, with a ridge set diagonally. The outer section of the cobbled floor includes a cattle grid, which is now covered with slate flags.
