Description
The lychgate to the Church of St Michael is a Grade II listed structure made of rubble stone, featuring slated roofs and coped shouldered gables. It has a gabled center flanked by low lean-tos on each side, which are blank with a raised plinth at the front and have 20th-century renewed doors at the back. The end walls also have coping. The center of the lychgate features a segmental-pointed arch and angle buttresses on both the front and rear. There is an added war memorial plaque from 1914-18 located in the eastern front apex. Inside, the lychgate has a rafter roof, a slate flag floor, and double wrought-iron gates with spearhead rails and dog-bars, with the top rails curving up to meet.
