Description
The monument to Mary Jones, which includes remnants of her early home, Ty'n-y-ddol, features outer house walls made of local stone, now reduced to approximately 1.3 meters high. At the northeast end, there is a recessed inglenook. In the center of what was once the living room, there is a rubble pyramid topped with two stages of pink granite, the upper edges chamfered. This supports a rectangular obelisk that is carved on the face with an open bible. An inscription on the base stages tells the story of Mary Jones in both English and Welsh. The area around the monument is paved with flagstones.
