Description
Oriel Arfon is a Georgian single-bay house featuring scribed roughcast walls and a slate roof. The lower storey includes an inserted shop front framed by panelled pilasters, a plain fascia, and a deep moulded cornice. To the left, there is a half-lit panelled door with a plain overlight. In the middle and upper storeys, the windows are offset to the right, consisting of a 12-pane hornless sash window on the first floor and a similar 9-pane window on the upper storey.
At the rear, there is a long gabled wing that is also roughcast and has an end stack. Its south elevation, which faces the passage through No 16a, features some original windows, including 9-pane hornless sashes in the upper storey and a 12-pane sash window on the middle right. The middle and lower left sections have late 19th-century 2-pane sashes in earlier openings, while the lower right doorway has a replaced door and a plain overlight. Additionally, there is a lower flat-roofed 2-storey projection that is L-shaped and connects to 9-11 Castle Ditch.
