Description
8 Palace Street is a Georgian house with two bays and three stories, featuring scribed stucco walls and rusticated angle pilaster strips, topped with a slate roof. The windows are set in original, relatively small openings but display late 19th-century details, including eared architraves. The middle storey has four-pane sash windows, while the upper storey has two-pane sash windows. The lower-storey shop front, also from the late 19th century, is framed by plain pilasters and includes fixed windows with glazing bars above plain stall boards, flanking a shop doorway with a replaced door and a plain overlight. On the left side, there is an inserted door with a glazed panel, which is a widening of an earlier doorway that cuts into the angle pilaster.
