Description
28 High Street is a Georgian house and shop built of brick with rusticated quoins and a slate roof. It stands three stories tall and features a three-window range. The lower storey has a shallow bowed shop front with openings framed by fluted pilasters, a plain fascia, and a moulded cornice. The central half-lit panelled door is recessed and has a hinged overlight. On either side of the door are two-light windows above stallboards that are boarded over, likely hiding cellar openings. At the right end, there is a round-headed doorway with a radial overlight and a recessed panelled door that includes fielded panels. The middle and upper storeys have keyed wedge lintels above hornless sash windows, with 12 panes in the middle storey and 9 panes above, except for the upper centre window, which is blind.
