Description
16a Palace Street is a 2-storey house featuring scribed roughcast walls and a slate roof with an added skylight. On the right side, there is a panelled door that leads to an original passage, while on the left, there is a renewed horizontal sliding sash window. A similar sash window is located in the upper storey.
The rear of the house is pebble-dashed and has a large external stack that has been partly taken down and capped. The passage is on the left side, above which is a 2-light casement window.
Inside, the passage includes a timber-framed partition with brick nogging. The roof features a single queen-post truss that abuts No 16. There is a lath and plaster partition between the upper storeys of Nos 16a and 18. In the lower storey, a timber-framed partition sits on a stone sill with a sill beam and retains wooden boarding.
